Cars update:

Well, I'm back home again... and the journey out to my mum's was not fruitless. Not only did I get to see my mum for a bit (which is always nice), but I did in fact acquire a car. Well, sort of. I won't actually get it for a while, as they're going to do a bit more work on it (it was in need of a new cambelt, so that's being done, and it's getting a fresh MOT. They're also going to fix the wipers, which were in need of a new motor).

It needs me to get out the touch up paint for a couple of spots and one long scratch, and the perfectionist in me says that I might want to sand off a couple of patches, re-fill them a little (probably only spray filler needed - not bad enough to need any mesh or proper filler) and re-spray... but they're pretty trivial, to be honest.

So, in the near future I will have a dark red Vauxhall Astra, and after a short spell of practice driving, will be able to get out and about a bit more. Still not going to be driving everywhere, but I'll be able to get about when I need to.

If they are going to get it through an MOT, the wipers must work, as should the water jet things for the screen.
