Another car update...
28 March 2004 17:33Well,
I've spent the past six hours outside with aluminium mesh, P38 filler, rust remover, primer, paint and three different grades of abrasive paper (oh, and a car). As a result I am now quite liberally coated in P38 filler dust, but my car's rust patch count has been reduced by three... two large rust patches on the rear passenger side wheel arch are now filled as well as a smaller (but more irritating) one next to the rear driver's side light cluster.
Only one significant rust patch left now, which is the third one on the rear passenger side wheel arch, but that one's much less of a problem than the other two were, as it's on a part of the wheel arch which is mainly cosmetic in nature.
I made a bit of a pigs ear of the paint job.. I got a bit too close with the spray can and ended up with a nice drip, but it's painted enough that I could leave it and come back to fix that another time, and I think that once I've yoinked the wheel off and sprayed the underside of the wheel arch with underseal, the car will be as ready as I can get it for MOT.
I, however, am now completely knackered.
