Well, what have I been up to?
On Saturday I modified the Trousers That Time Forgot so that they fitted me. I also plotted and schemed with
molez about the Dark Ages game, then made Chilli for a fairly sizeable bunch of folks... I like cooking chilli - the fact that I can't cook it in small amounts means that it always becomes a social event when I cook it. There's still some of it left, although I think I should probably dispose of it, really...
Sunday was a day rapidly eaten by contract work... which I have finished the graphic design side of and now just need to sort out the web side of it, which I'm going to be bribing
izzy_stradlin to help out with speeding up the general legwork, and possibly some of the other bits as well...
I managed to escape to the pub for a bit as well, just long enough to be a bit sociable and to eat some lunch. Shouldn't really have eaten at the pub, but I wanted to see people and combining a socialising break with a lunch break meant that I finished in time to have a bit evening left after I finished the work. I wasn't very with it for that part of the evening, though.
Monday (yesterday) was the Information Services Staff Conference. This means they shut the LRC (the building in which I work) and we all got dragged off for a morning full of meetings and workshop sessions.
One of these was quite dull, being about equal opportunities and diversity - an interesting topic, but one that I've been getting drilled into me every couple of weeks, mainly because I'm the web accessibility bod.
The other was about making work fun... which could have been horrific, but the guy leading the session, as well as being a lecturer here is also a pretty decent stand up comic & compere. The session didn't really stay on topic at all, and instead turned into a lecture about comedy and looking at things from different perspectives.
The afternoon was then taken up lounging around in the grounds of templeton, a building owned by a group associated with one of the colleges. Quite laid-back, in a "still with work people" kind of way. A smaller group of us then ended up in a pub for the better part of the evening. After which it took me nearly 2 hours to get home due to having to wait 15-20 minutes for a train, then change trains at twickenham, then change again with another 10 minute wait at Staines.
This morning? I've not done a great deal. A bit of tidying around the edges on other work.. not much else.
