I apologise for the anger, but the point still stands.
Continuously sniping about those I care about with made up facts and foolish accusations is likely to arouse my ire. When I point out the errors, and the sniping continues, my ire continues to build. When politely asked to apologise, an apology may be offered, but when it is proved utterly hollow (be it a couple of weeks later or in the very same breath), my anger will grow a little more. I try to be civil at the very least, and I try to see that people patch things up, but when one party involved continues to snipe and make accusations, there's not a lot I can do.
Eventually, my patience wears thin. Sometimes this leads to me getting a bit shouty.
