When new / old / cheap as dirt copy of LBA arrives, a mod to make it work in Windows XP can be found here:

I have a hankering to play through this game again as it's fantastic. If I can remember where my copy of LBA 2 is then I might have a crack at that again too, if I can coax it into working on a modern PC. If not, I might bung it on my laptop instead.

Today, a series of office and bookstock moves begin in our building.

So far, what this has involved is the removals company coming in with vast amounts of crates and duping them wherever there's space in the building. This includes right outside our office. What used to be a window into a fairly spacious hallway is now a window onto head-height stacks of bright orange plastic packing crates, and the spacious hallway is now a narrow path around the outside edge of a vast heap of the same.

They're filling the space so much that the lights are shining down onto orange and then being refleced back up to the ceiling, infusing the whole area with a hellish orange glow. It's faintly disturbing.

What's potentially more disturbing is the reason the spacious hallway was still spacious and empty in a library crying out for bookshelf space. The floor isn't strong enough to take the weight of any bookstock. The crates are probably lighter than books, but they're really packed in. Also, they're probably going to stack them there when they're filled too. Full of books.

I wonder if we'll have a floor by the end of the week, or if we'll instead have a window onto an incandescent orange glowing hole.
