Anybody looking for an IT support job around London? If the answer's yes, say so quickly!

EDIT: Largely MS based, networking knowledge and experience required. Needs to grok LDAP & user/group admin in windows + unix. Whole bunch of other stuff, too. Serious IF infrastructure & software support, not just a phone monkey or call forwarder.

Brief announcement! On sunday, around lunchtime (I believe - I may be wrong), I shall be making chilli for the masses. These masses will include a certain pseudoantipodean guest of our acquaintance. If you're interested, say so here. Depending on how many people are interested, I may need to turn folks away. I have no idea how much I'll be making, but practical limits will become apparent over time.

I am already going to be making 3 version - normal, veggie and onion free. I will not be making any other flavours. As well as not including meat, the veggie version will not include mushrooms. I have no idea what else it will include as I haven't planned it yet!

If you're going to be there, let me know... along with what version of the chilli you'd like...

Yesterday, since I'd been working from home, I was able to make it to the SF Book Club in Staines. I'm hoping I'll be able to make that regularly as it was pretty good fun, actually. If need be I'll work from home on the days it's on, although if I can't do that then I should be able to make it by just leaving work 30-45 mins early.

After quite a long chat, some general introductions and a fairly arbitrary selection procedure, it turns out we'll be reading "Where Late The Sweet Birds Sang" by Kate Wilhelm. I was keen to head towards that one, as of the five shortlisted (five at random from the SF masterworks series), there were only two I'd not read already and the other was one I keep being told I should read ("Pavane", by somebody who's name I've forgotten temporarily).

It might seem that "Pavane" would have been a good one to have gone for instead of "Where Late The Sweet Birds Sang", but I've heard of the former often enough that I'll get to it eventually anyway. I've not even heard of the latter, so probably wouldn't read it without this incentive! Now I just need to wait for them to get enough copies in that I can buy one using my Book Club discount.
