It's written in much more natural english than the Microformats documentation!

Basically, it's a set of standard ways to write HTML code for certain types of information. If the HTML is written in this way, then software that understands Microformats can go in and grab the information and use it to do things, rather than it just being text on a page.

As an example:

The following is coded up as an hCard (hastily, untidily & without any style). If you have one of the tools I listed in my post installed, you'd be able to just add this straight to your address book.
