Damn Netscape 4.x.
Damn it's eyes, damn the horse it rode in on, damn the rest of it.
Damn it to hell, then damn it back again so I can damn it again.
Damn the universities with woeful IT policies who permit it's blasphemy to continue.
Damn the businesses that have declined to upgrade since god knows when.
Damn them all.

Fetid little horseturd of a browser.

[Edit: I have no idea what blasphempy was, but it sounds intriguing]
[Edit 2: My mind has clearly been broken by Nutscrape 4.x. I can no longer spell or punctuate. Please ignore me whilst I go and shoot myself in the head]

May Netscape 4 be sold to SCO. May it's originators suffer a thousand <BLINK> tags, may their daughters be bald and may the former Iraqi foreign minister insult their clothes!

It is truly a pitiful little arsebuscuit of a browser, as were it's peers.

However, it's peers have at least had the decency to retire gracefully. Netscape 4.x continues to turn up to work long into it's senility, babbling incoherenly whilst being confused by the simplest instructions and regularly weeing all over the floor.

After much dithering, we have now formally demoted Netscape 4 to "partial support". Which means it just has to WORK, and we don't really care what it looks like. Well, OK, we don't want it to be a complete mess, but it doesn't have to be pretty, either.

Woohoo!

Alas, of the small percentage of people still using Nutscrape 4.x, the majority of them are in academia. I have to make sure that everything I do works in Netscape, although minor flaws are now considered acceptable. Next year we'll be moving to a similar "Partial Support" policy, at which point I suspect I will start swearing about Macs instead.
