Mnrh?
Well, once again I didn't do as much sleeping last night as I should have, although most of this was because I simply wasn't tired enough. With my insomnia relaxing when it did I suddenly caught up on sleep, but unfortunately I've ended up with a sleep pattern thats 4 or 5 hours out of synch with the world. I need to go to bed at 4am and wake up at 12:30pm.
Regrettably, this is not condusive to work. So after a few days of trying to avoid eating and drinking things that would keep me awake (with associated fuckle related lapses at the Mage game) I've just stuffed myself with a ridiculously chocolatey muffin and I'm halfway through a can of coke.
This morning has generally been quite dull, however. The most interesting event was being asked to move my car by the builders accross the road this morning. Thankfully it started. I put the car in reverse, though, so that damned fuse has probably gone again. Still, I managed to effortlessly sling the car vaguely in the direction of the drive. I didn't fancy trying to reverse it up the side of the house at that time of the morning, so I just left it strewn at a rakish angle accross the front of the house.
Driving. Weird.

2004-01-05 08:16 (UTC)You'd expect the bollard on the side of the drive to be a problem, but it turns out that it's the mangy tree next to it which is the problem. It has a protruding branch at wing mirror height. So you have to stay clear of that, which because of the positioning of the kerb and where people tend to park in front of our house, you end up with the back end pointing slightly towards the front door.
You then have to swing around so you're aiming at the driveway down the side of the house, and you have to do it quickly enough to be far enough out to get the other wing mirror past the house and the drainpipe but slowly enough that you don't end up encountering the foliage between the two at the front.
Then you need to straighten up enough that you end up on our driveway and not the neighbours, especially if there's a car parked in their drive. Doubly so if it's a Lotus Elan (as it sometimes is).
I'm getting better at it each time I try, but it usually takes me a couple of goes to get it right.

2004-01-05 09:01 (UTC)You could always
butcherprune the tree if it's on your side...or even if it's just the annoying bit on your side, you could ask your neighbour and/or do it yourself?no subject
