So... Back at work

So, after an incredible two weeks of holiday, I'm back at work. The website seems to still be there... I've still got some tweaks to make to it so that it behaves properly under all circumstances, but hey, it's there.
We've also moved to the new office... There are now far too many stairs, and *horror of horrors* they've taken the blinds away from the windows into the corridor. I can be seen from outside the office. Thankfully what I'm doing can't be, but it's still a horror. Maybe they'll put them back before students return, otherwise I'll start feeling like a goldfish in a bowl.
I've also got my new USB memory stick widget thing, which isn't so much a stick as a box with a fold out USB plug, but hey, 2gigs of portable storage... I'm not going to argue.
Of course, Barry's gone, so there's one less person in the office, and I've already got people who normally contacted him contacting me asking me to do things. So today I ignore them. My "how will my working practices change" meeting is tomorrow, at which point I'll also find out what the hell I should be working on right now. Until then, I am distinctly lacking in clue. So I'll just have to work through some bits and bobs for now... nothing taxing or urgent. Maybe do the stats work for the last three weeks... Three sets of stats? I'm sure I can spin that out for the day...

2004-08-17 03:25 (UTC)If it were not for the fact that I've only just got my new IP phone, I'd be buried in voicemails, I expect...

2004-08-19 01:49 (UTC)Year is 1230. Place is the Egham, Staines, Windsor area - court is the Windsor court, which has recently acquired a new prince and a lost a large chunk of cainite population after Mithras found conspiracy there and decided to remove it. New prince is a protege of mithras, and other than him there's a large power vacuum in the domain, hence the sudden influx of new cainites.
* 5 extra abilities for free to round out the character (*might be freebies, I forget*)
* Characters of "normal clans for the area" get an extra 5 freebies for being nice to us.
* We are advising strongly against Tremere PCs (Mithras friendly court near to London - PHCB starting characters would have a ridiculously short unlife expectancy)
* Starting in XP debt of up to 20xp is possible with a decent background stuffed with plot hooks we can use to harsh your character (and others). for every 5 xp in debt (or part thereof) you must pay an extra one, so 20xp at startup requires 24 to be paid off, 10xp at startup requires 12 to be paid off.
