I got into work at 10:30 today, having left for work at my normal time. This was not helped by barely missing one train and then ending up sat in the next one for nearly an hour before it even went anywhere...
Bizarrely, I was expecting yesterday's trains (coming back from
izzy_stradlin's place with my own bags and a big carry case full of acoustic guitar) to be worse, but they turned out okay in the end.
The weekend itself turned out to be a fairly relaxed one in which I assisted in looking after an unwell
izzy_stradlin, interspersed with a quick trip to colchester, where I picked up the next few collections of "Powers"... the next two collections (Roleplay and Little Deaths) are much like the first one (Who Killed Retro Girl), in that they're full of clever ideas and are generally pretty impressive, but that they end really suddenly.
That said, the fourth one (Supergroup) is really quite impressive indeed. Lots of new questions posed, a few answers delivered and some interesting character progressions. It also doesn't stop so suddenly, instead dealing with a touch of the aftermath of events, and how the fallout affects people.
All in all, I rather like Powers, in spite of its flaws.
