It looks like The Musical Museum has just opened a few hundred yards from the Kew Bridge Steam Museum.

Speaking of the KBSM, it looks like they've got all of their steam engines running today, tomorrow and tuesday. I think that's another potential plan for the next few days sorted... Although the musical museum is closed until the 3rd or so, so it'd just be the steam museum. It's probably a bit late in the day to try and get sorted to go today... as the larger engines only run at scheduled times, and if you go too late, you miss seeing some of them go. <steamgeekery>The 90" cornish beam engine is a thing to behold.</steamgeekery>

New years day hangover cure trip, perhaps?

The question on my mind right now is "so what am I going to do with today?"

It's kind of an awkward nowhere day before new year... tomorrow I have planned already. I'll spend the morning & early afternoon planning some scenes for the new year game (see the cut), then the later afternoon preparing some food for the evening, and quite possibly making a start on the drinking. Not much, you understand, but preparing foodstuffs for new year ought really to be a mildly alchoholic affair.

When that's done, I suspect I shall stick some Jeeves & Wooster on the box and then sit and watch, placing myself firmly in the mood for the evening's festivities/inanities/jolly good fun. The players (who should know who they are already) may choose to join us at this point, should they wish. Of course, they're largely welcome to join at any other point as well, but it's probably best to get in touch if you'll be arriving earlier.

A note for the uninitiated )

Anyway - back to the point!

What should I do with today? I'm half tempted to nip into Staines to see "I Am Legend". I have been forewarned that it bares more similarities to previous film versions than it does to the book... but I've also been told that it's still pretty decent. Looking at the cinema listings, it's either that or St. Trinians, which I still can't determine if it's going to be a complete travesty or not... It has a good cast, but also Russell Brand as Flash Harry. Having been to university at St. Trinians (no, really), I have a soft spot for the originals.

Other options include going for a walk, but as my car is out of action, I'd have to walk through a bunch of boring stuff to get to anywhere interesting to walk...
