It looks like The Musical Museum has just opened a few hundred yards from the Kew Bridge Steam Museum.

Speaking of the KBSM, it looks like they've got all of their steam engines running today, tomorrow and tuesday. I think that's another potential plan for the next few days sorted... Although the musical museum is closed until the 3rd or so, so it'd just be the steam museum. It's probably a bit late in the day to try and get sorted to go today... as the larger engines only run at scheduled times, and if you go too late, you miss seeing some of them go. <steamgeekery>The 90" cornish beam engine is a thing to behold.</steamgeekery>

New years day hangover cure trip, perhaps?

Just means that to see everything running, you'll have to go on two separate weekends, instead of it all going in one.

The 90" Cornish Engine is indeed marvellous!

I would recommend the smaller Crofton Beam Engines (http://www.croftonbeamengines.org), which are also splendid, and one of which is nearly 200 years old!
