Just brutally slaughtered my first warm fleshy human on Urban Dead. Somehow anticlimactic. Oh well. I did decide to give the game another go, and it does seem that you should just start as a firefighter if you want to be a survivor. I did so and managed to rack up 12 XP in my first batch of moves. I didn't manage *any* over a couple of days with my cop.

Perhaps it helps that I was lucky enough this time to start somewhere that wasn't utterly crawling with zombies and barricaded to the hilt...

To be fair, if someone talks about a new web thingy, 'tis only polite to provide a link :)

How would I know if the links I came up with were the same thing that the poster was writing about?

I've got images turned off, but I can't help but imagine you've used the shower icon for that comment *grins sheepishly*

nope, I have a spangly urbandead icon. and my shower icon is, sadly, currently not available! because I am lazy.

I've "woken up" to find my zombie in a baracaded building. I can't imagine why someone would enter the building, whilst a zombie was in it, not attack it and put up a baracade instead. I'm going to lurk inside a bit longer and see if any dumb people end up finishing their go in it :)

zombies can't open doors, or break down barricades speedily. it's a good way of keeping easy kills and xp in one place, so you can hide in a nearby building, and spend minimal moves getting to guaranteed xp. sad, but true.

Except that I'm on the *inside* of the baracade? Unless you're suggesting that someone has potentially trapped me in the building so I'm an easy kill?

that's the theory. generally, zombies just get shut inside by doors, but I guess barricades could accomplish the same.

Zombies can open doors if they have "memories of life"

and not if they don't, which generally implies they're low level and an easy kill.

I can just jump from the window though.

I hope their plan backfires and I get a newbie survivor in to chomp on :)

I think I'll give up waiting before I go to bed and jump out the window and go find somewhere else to eat folk - just in case.

Damn...forgot. Got killed. But on the plus side, I've found *two* people to chomp on. I hope neither of them run away any time soon :)

The city constantly changes, so some areas can be good starting points at one point and bad at another. But I went through two survivors before my third survived...
