I just had another look at the website for that museum I mentioned recently and noticed that they can be hired. No sign of pricing information or anything, but you can hire the place out for functions, and what's more, you can even have the engines running through your event!

If ever a steampunk / victorian anachrotech style LARP was to be run, it is a place that should be looked at as a venue.

As an aside, I'm kind of vaguely toying with the idea of going along and perusing it on Sunday. They're open, and all of their engines (and their short railway) are running and I don't recall any specific other plans. I even have a train ticket that gets me there without me having to pay any more than I already do.

Anyone else interested in giving it a look?

Wow, that would make a cool set for photography, too...

Do go, it is good.

I am amused by the Venue Brochure that "Smoking and red wine" are permitted within the main venu areas. Why just red wine? What about Bitter, or champagne?

Which reminds me... if ever you spot a TV series called "Industrial Revelations" or "More Industrial Revelations" on TV, I suggest you watch it. Fine little TV series about the industrial revolution in Britain presented by Mark Williams (of Fast Show / Harry Potter films fame)... It looks like a fair few bits of it were filmed at the Kew Bridge Steam Museum.

I am still up for a visit.
I went to a friends 50th Birthday party there - it makes a wonderful setting for parties.

Just to complete the scene, you could try to borrow the Difference Engine No. 2 from the Science Museum.

Now that would be cool!
