So, as most of you have probably heard by now,
urizen and I are looking at starting a mortals game in the area in the new year. Might be January, might be February, but early in 2009. As ever, we'll be joint STs, but this time around I'm going to fill the bureaucratically required post of VST (and apparently DST as well, in the absence of other games).
This is going to be a CamUK game. You might be wondering why... and the answer is simple:
Ask absolutely anybody about the Mortals games in CamUK and you'll hear nothing but praise. Even better, with the international organisation dropping the venue, there'll be no international plot shenanigans or american PCs born in the ghettos of Chelsea. In short, CamUK is getting it right - enough that I'd actually quite like to be involved in it...
But before it can happen, we need a couple of things from our playerbase.
1) A playerbase. I know there's a certain amount of interest already, but having a bit of a role call would be useful.
2) A coordinator. To handle the inevitable bureaucracy, and also to handle venue bookings and payments.
3) Characters. I'll be giving some details shortly, but talking to myself or
urizen would be a good bet.
So what's the game premise? Well - we're going to be tying characters together by asking that everybody is a member of the Egham-by-Runnymede Fortean Society. This is a local society of people with an interest in Fortean Phenomena - either in proving them, disproving them or purely unbiased skeptics looking for evidence either way. An interest in investigating Fortean Phenomena is required, and whilst running away from said phenomena is always an option, we'd prefer that characters have at least enough curiosity to try to work out what they're running from whilst they're wearing down their shoe leather. Even better if their first reaction upon seeing a creepy shadow moving between some trees is to gird their loins and go see what it is.
I'll be posting this message to the Runnymede OOC list as well...

Runnymede Domain Stuff...
2008-11-24 12:25 (UTC)Not sure if i have your e-mail adress lieing about anymore so thought i would post hear.
As far as coordinator stuff... iam currently the DC of the domain, in a kinda sorta way, as becuse there was no games or anything i was in the process of closing the domain down.
I will abort the plans for closeing it down and help you get the game of the ground (as best i can from the grim north). But if you e-mail me at Uveron@gmail.com, i can help to get the domain funds to you.

2008-11-24 21:40 (UTC)I can provide someone to do the bureaucracy, up-chain as it where… aka the dealing with the National Cord, and the ST’s where and as needed. (though you have fran the nst, on your team, which helps).
Provinding you can have someone whom can do the VC stuff, i can and will work with the provisional st’s to get things of the ground… and locate the domain funds =)

2008-11-24 12:36 (UTC)I'm definitely interested :D
Current Mortals character might not be up to the job though. I'll email you both about him and let you guys decide.

2008-11-24 13:11 (UTC)It pleases me so much that the fact that the international Cam has dropped the venues has attracted people more than anything. Lol at Cammunism.

2008-11-24 13:45 (UTC)I don't know too much about the existing games, only that
mistress_fran runs games that has even the most hardy of players
running screaming in to the night. There was one game where she collected a
*large* number of hands and feet from dolls. I don't know how they were
used nor did I want to find out o_O
The 2 games I have played in could easily have been some kind of Cthulhu game though. I can't imagine the Runnymede game would be anything less than eye bleeding, brain melting out of ears, pant wetting scary horror :)

2008-11-24 13:33 (UTC)I'm in (assuming the game dates works for me) and I'm not sure if you have midnightschilde on here but she'll probably be well up for it too (again, dates permitting)

2008-11-24 13:46 (UTC)Saturday evenings are ideal, but they're also remarkably scarce due to players having commitments to other games (and other things - bloody people wanting to have lives).
Sunday afternoons are easy, but harder when it comes to building atmosphere due to it being daylight outside. Unless we can find a good way of effectively blacking out a venue, anyway.
Sunday evenings aren't really viable as they're followed far too closely by Monday mornings...
Weekday evenings are pretty much out of the question as I don't get back from work in time - I only used to manage the friday night Sabbat games by using up massive amounts of my annual leave...

2008-11-24 13:54 (UTC)The thing with Mage though, was that it was quite happy to be set during the day. I think (to enhance the terror) they'll be wanting to set a few games when it's dark and we can't clearly see the horrors that are about to violate us and break our fragile minds...until it's too late! o_O
