Blissful not-silence!
22 June 2007 12:00I have new headphones. This is because the hideous echoing in my office, which is only set to get worse when the rest of Marketing move into the next bay over next week, has annoyed me once too often. I am now listening to my music though a set of cheap as chips yet actually rather nice sounding (and looking and feeling) set of Sennheiser HD-201 headphones.
I was expecting these to do a lot to block out external noise, but they're even better than I expected. I can't hear myself type! I can't hear my phone! I can't hear other people talk on the phone! I hear nothing except what I want to hear!
I expect that at some point this will lead to colleagues sneaking up on me and suchlike, but for now it's somewhat blissful.
Incidentally, I have decided from the song I am currently listening to (via last.fm), The Future Sound of London are the true successors to Syd Barratt era Pink Floyd. Newer Pink Floyd is mighty too, of course, but FSOL seem to have captured Syd's weird, bred it successfully and are taking it out for walks in the park.
