Waitaminnit... new rules? uh-oh. Not sure I approve of a whole new edition. Especially if it's not particularly compatible with the old one. Still, at least it's being kept alive in some form.
A couple of the quotes hint at it being very recognisable when placed next to the original... Just with some tweaks. Green Ronin are a well respected bunch as well, and the main guy used to write for WFRP - so it may well work out.
The other intriguing bit is that they mention WH40K as well, which could be intriguing.
Green Ronin are the clever chaps responsible for Mutants and Masterminds (www.mutantsandmasterminds.com) a groovy D20 superhero game that lucfia and I play.
Green Ronin also did the Freeport stuff, some of which I have and is excellent. A 40K rpg could be a lot of fun, but could also turn into a Big Guns game. Lets see what happens. Either way, I ithnk I'll be getting them.
There's a very good WH40K patch for WFRP out on the web. THe problem's balance - obviously players want to play Marines - they're one of the major notable things in the setting - but how to balance that with the rest of the party. You thought elves were gross...
Think I've seen that. Tried writing one myself, but again Marines ere the sticking point... How to make them playable without unbalancing the game. I'm inclined to keep them as NPCs only.
