So... what did I do at the weekend?
Well, mainly I watched a lot of CSI, then failed to sleep so watched a lot more CSI. Yup - I'm having another bout of insomnia. Today I am functioning on what I guess to be less than two hours of sleep. If I appear cranky or unbrained, that's why.
I did do a few non-CSI related things, though. I bought two new CDs on saturday as well as finally fixing the armchair in the front room. The armchair is fixed in a way that I expect to give at some point, but when it does, all that I need to do is turn it over and re-tighten the straps, as I did it with webbing straps and buckles rather than making it a permanent fix. When working on it I did reveal that my last repair had held, however, but the chair had in fact found other places to break. My repairs to the springs had held up, but they'd broken elsewhere. This time I just took them out and put webbing in instead.
The CDs I bought were both double CDs for £11.99, and were a complete mismatch of musical tastes. New Crosby+Nash CD and Gary Numan - Hybrid (Gary Numan redoing a bunch of older stuff with assistance from assorted other folks, such as Curve, Sulpher, Rico, etc...).
Sunday existed for CSI purposes only. I have now finished series 2.
Monday (the special bonus weekend day) was a trip into London to retrieve the
izzy_stradlin, who had been mich missed since departing for pastures essexian last thursday. We discovered a new place to eat in London in the form of Misato. I'd never really eaten Japanese food before (not liking Sushi), but this place was both cheap and good... We also encountered a busker in Covent Garden who was really rather good, so bought one of his CDs as well... Should have been £10, but when I mentioned I only had £7 on me, he said that was fine...
Rubber Swordy LARP rules were then discussed by myself and
d_morff, before a short bout in which I became confused by a left handed swordsman, then
thankyoukindly's Exalted game. Alas, despite being a sturdy chap and wearing chainmail, I still proved to be remarkably open to dagger attacks. It should be noted that rolling really badly when your opponents roll really well is never a good plan.
After this I failed to sleep and now I'm at work. Arse.
[EDIT: I forgot! Saturday night included a special bonus Runnymede Cam/Anarch game, which I attended, did very little and then left again. Not a slight against anybody - I expected the game to go roughly like that for me and decided to go anyway, just so I could chat for a bit and pass on one bit of info. Which I did.]

2004-08-31 03:08 (UTC)I picked up Lacuna Coil - 'Comalies' if you're interested. I can't remember if you've got that one or not.
I also got the Dead Can Dance best-of, Wake, if you're interested in listening to a well-chosen selection of their stuff.

2004-08-31 04:25 (UTC)(my preference is for Las Vegas and Grisham, but Horatio has really grown on me as a character)....

2004-08-31 04:34 (UTC)My impressions of the CSI: Miami stuff from the crossover with CSI in Season 2 was that "Horatio Caine" is just too pretentious a name. He's clearly a Cam character in disguise.
On a slight digression, do you have any Angelic Layer DVDs/VCDs/Downloaded files or somesuch that could possibly be borrowed?
