I come all the way out to Herefordshire to look at a car that was looking very promising (cars out here seem to be almost universally better value)... only to find that they've withdrawn it from sale. Gits. Ah well, apparently it's because they'd only just got it in, and when they gave it a more thorough check, it turned out to have some serious problems - they pulled it off sale to save face!

Still, I'm currently considering a different car... a little smaller, but still practical. Looked at a couple of others too, but nothing else leaped out. Even if I get that one, I won't be driving it back, as I wouldn't be able to get everything sorted in time (they need to do final checks and have said they'll replace the cam belt ahead of time), but I'd probably get it back home soon.

One Vectra caught my eye, and was looking in pretty good shape at first. Ufortunately, every other car in the forecourt had clean and clear windows. That one was foggy and misted up, which I took to be a bad sign. Worse, when it was opened up I was wafted with a smell like a three day old damp towel. Strangely, I decided to leave that one alone after that.

Might well be back tomorrow evening... otherwise, I'll be back friday lunchtime or early afternoon at a guess.
