So, last night I went with work folks (including
barty) to the Great British Beer Festival. Last year I went near the end, when the cider bar had run out of practically everything the night before and been restocked at random from whatever stock the cider producers had available. The result was quite a limited selection which didn't really match my tastes.
This year was much better. They had a much wider range, and I found a few that I liked (along with a couple I didn't). Something that was the same as last year, though - I spent more money on strange bottled booze than I did on the ciders & perrys. I came away with a bottle of Black Mountain (cheaper than my usual supplier by around a fiver) and a bottle of Moniack mead. Can't argue with that.
I attempted to put my opinions up on Twitter (bunged onto LJ by loudtwitter), but my ability to remember the names of the ciders was somewhat hampered by a) my lack of memory and b) the ciders.
